On the eve of the one year anniversary of the murder of the Brazilian councillor and activist for the human rights, Marielle Franco, and her driver, Anderson Gomes, on 14th March 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, there are still many questions without answers.

Marielle’s murder raises serious concerns in relation to possible negligance, illegal interferences, and the whether correct legal proceedure is being followed during investigations.

We demand an impartial and conclusive investigation from the Brazilian authorities and, most importantly, that they show their commitment to guaranteeing necessary punishment for the those responsible for this brutal crime – not only those for who executed Marielle and Anderson, but for those who ordered their murder.
